You’ve tried a doctor for stress, depression, or chronic pain without long-term relief. And who has time to keep going back for something that’s not helping? Life’s busyness has caught up with you. You know what makes you happy, but how do you get back to that?
You feel like you’re in a fight almost daily.
It makes it hard to sleep. You spend so much time ruminating in your thoughts and what isn’t working that the simple things around you go unappreciated. But if you’re so good at so many other things, why can’t you just fix yourself? I hear you. It’s hard to trust someone else with your physical and emotional health. I want to empower you with the breath, body, and mindfulness-based tools so that you can get back to happiness.
You were ready to take on the day with more joy and humor.
Then, “life happens”…
Someone cuts you off in traffic…
You get a nagging phone call…
The boss criticizes your work…
… and it ruins the tone for the rest of your day.
No more temporary fixes! In yoga therapy, we’ll get you long-lasting results by getting to the root of the parts of yourself you don’t love. I will help you tune into the sensations of your body and unlock what is underneath all that tension. Unlike what we learned in biology, muscles don’t just move body parts around in space. Your day-to-day routine does have not only a physical imprint on your body, but also a mental, emotional, and energetic impact. How does your body react when you turn on the morning news? Tension might build up in your shoulders, which causes a headache when you’re at work – putting your whole body on edge for hours. Then you get home, and your partner asks if you can take the garbage out. You snap and call them a nag, putting a damper on the rest of the night. Then you’re in a cycle of judging yourself for screwing it up.
What if you had the tools to stop that tension at 8 AM?
Let me help you discover what’s getting in the way of real sustained life change and happiness.
Before we start moving, we’ll discuss what you want to work on the most, and we’ll leave space open for any of your short-term goals. As a part of this, we’ll talk about everything impacting your body: your job, your movement patterns, your relationships, etc. I’m going to ask a lot of questions to get a better understanding of what you are going through. After discussing your goals and history, we’ll begin to step into some gentle physical movement, or stillness, and explore what your body is sharing and from where.
The first session might be all about curiosity for you, and clients usually feel more relaxed after just one session. Actually FEELING those spaces where your body wants to release and heal.
You and your body direct the session; so if it’s becoming too intense, we can do less or change the posture to accommodate your needs. If you need more, we can do that, too. Sessions often times include meditation and restorative yoga, depending on what you are seeking. Sessions will conclude with reflection and an action-step for you to work on before we meet again. We will create smart, attainable action steps when you leave your yoga therapy session. You want to feel successful between sessions so you can feel better for longer.
Imagine what an hour a week could do to change your life right now! If you aren’t sure if individual yoga therapy is for you or have concerns, I’m available for a free 15-minute phone consult. Share a few details including your phone number and we will be in touch sooner than you expect.
